Security Officer

Now hiring for a Security Officer at the Rice Memorial Hospital. As the Safety & Security Officer your main responsibilities would be monitoring and protecting hospital patients, employees, guests, and property; preserving the peace; preventing crime; and detecting and detaining violators of the law.

Summary:

• Responds to hospital emergency codes
• Frequently patrols parking lots and clinics in patrol squad
• Performs routine rounding on aggressive flagged patients or those at risk for security intervention
• Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
• Serves as a liaison for responding law enforcement agencies

Trainings and certifications provided by the department. Shift differentials offered for evening, nights, and weekends.

Schedule:

• Part-time | 40 hours per two weeks
• Every other Wednesday through Sunday | 3:00PM to 11:30PM

Pay and Benefits:

• Starting pay begins at $24.21 per hour, exact wage determined by years of related experience.
• Pay range: $24.21 - $36.35 per hour

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in security, policing, training in law enforcement, or private security preferred.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and written and deal effectively with individuals/groups in a health care setting.
• Minimum training and certification up to the level of EMR within 3 months of hire.
• A valid Minnesota driver’s license and a driving record in good standing required.
• Must become certified in the use of the ASP expandable baton, handcuffing, VISTELAR, and CEW (conducted energy weapon/Taser) as well as experience the effects of receiving a Taser exposure within 6 months of hire.
• A full set of fingerprints in accordance with Minnesota Statute 326.336 is required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required prior to completion of unit orientation.
• To be eligible for the hiring bonus you must be an external candidate who is hired into an eligible full-time or part-time benefited position. Previous CentraCare employees qualify if they have not worked for CentraCare for at least 9 months at the date of hire.
